About the Project

The project “Interregional cultural and informational action “Living Traditions” is a recipient of a subsidy from the federal budget for the implementation of creative projects within the framework of the National project “Culture”.

The project goals are the popularization of folk art, folk arts and crafts, the preservation of a collective memory of the culture of the Russian people, the strengthening of Russian civil and cultural identity based on the spiritual, moral and cultural values ​​of the peoples of the Russian Federation, through the introduction and development of digital technologies in socio-cultural sphere of society.

The cultural and informational action “Living Traditions” is being implemented in June-November 2019.

As part of the action, 3 blocks of events are held:

  1. Website development. The site will present an interactive map of crafts and trades, as well as systematic information about especially valuable objects of folk art in the Vladimir region, crafts and trades, craftsmen and folk groups. Information will be accompanied by photos and videos. The website assumes the availability of two language versions - Russian and English.
  2. Edition of the printed art album “Living Traditions.Vladimir Region” in two languages, Russian and English. The album will feature key crafts and trades of the Vladimir region, leading masters and their works, folk music groups of the region - laureates of national and international competitions.
  3. Conducting a concert-presentation of folk groups and an exhibition of folk crafts and trades of the Vladimir region. These events will be held with the aim of presenting the printed album and the Living Traditions website. Participation in the concert is also planned for soloists and groups from other regions of the Central Federal District.

Subsequently, the guidelines for the cultural and informational action “Living Traditions” will be transferred to cultural institutions in other regions of the Central Federal District, which reflects the interregional nature of the action.

Project activities will be supported by the Regional Center of Folk Art, which for 75 years has been engaged in the preservation, development and popularization of crafts and trades, and folk art.

ANO IT “Digital Technologies for Society” has serious experience in creating information resources for the development of culture in the region. In particular, the organization created and maintains the Tourism Portal of the Vladimir Region Tourism33, which three times (in 2016, 2017, 2018) became the winner of the All-Russian professional competition “Best Tourist Portal” organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education “Russian State University of tourism and service”.  ANO IT “Digital Technologies for Society” also has experience publishing a travel guide for the Vladimir region.
