Children's Studio "Rus"

The creative activity of the Children's Studio "Rus" whose history amounts to more than thirty years demonstrates clearly the continuity of generations in the preservation, development and popularization of the folk musical tradition. This unique group appeared in 1987 at the Vladimir Regional Philharmonic Hall. The idea of ​​creating a children's "Rus" as a kind of "talent factory" for the vocal and choreographic ensemble "Rus" belonged to M.N. Firsov. The permanent leader of the Children's Studio "Rus" is Vitaly Antonov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the contribution to the development of folk art "Soul of Russia". 

Since 2006, the studio has become the base team of the Regional Center of Folk Art. About 70 children aged 5 to 14 years are engaged in it. Here young performing artists study the history of Russian folk songs and horn music, become acquainted with the traditional culture of the Vladimir region, master the technique of playing the Vladimir horns and other Russian folk instruments. And, of course, here they learn to sing and dance with a Russian passion and enthusiasm. 

The repertoire of the Children's Studio "Rus" includes instrumental and choral folklore works – lyric, dance, ritual, round dance, recruit songs. The folk musical compositions performed by children include singing, dancing and playing the horn, flute, balalaika, gusli, rattle, smoother. This determines the originality of the Children's Studio "Rus". And the performances of the young universal artists invariably arouse the interest and delight of the audience.

The team is a Laureate of the award in the field of literature and art of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation, and has also repeatedly become a laureate and winner of the Grand Prix of All-Russian and International competitions and festivals. Little artists repeatedly gave concerts in Moscow – at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, the Concert Hall named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, Children's Musical Theater named after N.I. Sats. They successfully tour abroad – in Romania, Spain, France, Italy and neighboring countries. 

One of the main tasks of the Children's Studio "Rus" is to popularize folk art. The team annually gives more than 30 charity concerts in the Vladimir region and other regions, takes part in socially significant events.  

Several generations of young performing artists have replaced each other for the time of the Children's Studio "Rus" existence. Some of the grown children continue their education and creative activities at Vladimir College of Culture and Art, and later, on a professional basis, in the ensemble "Vladimir Rozhechniki" and the vocal and choreographic ensemble "Rus". For most of the participants, the studio "Rus" is a good school of life, hard work, friendship and mutual assistance, and, of course, understanding and acceptance of Russian musical folklore, its spirituality and good artistic taste.
